Clipperton is a one man show that follows the journey of a Pilgrim in the 1800s who leaves his home in search of fortune, only to be stranded on an island where his desire for power corrupts him and leads to a short and brutal reign as “king.” This play explores themes of colonialism, greed and conquest. The story was inspired by the characters of Prosporo and Caliban in Shakespeare’s Tempest, along with the real history of Clipperton island.
