Overview

Em’s helping her mum and sister move out of their family home. Bit by bit, they clear out the house, until all that’s left is a beanbag to sit on. As they sort through their stuff, deciding what to keep and what to let go, Em realises that maybe it’s not just her belongings she’s contending with in the move.
Set in the north west of England, Beanbags is an exploration of being unsettled in the in-between. A love letter to how family can help us through the transitional periods of our lives, Beanbags explores mental health, class, and the courage it takes to confront the past in order to build a better future.
This play is part of the Union One Act Festival.
