Overview

At the self checkout, we leave behind a quiet record of who we are. Printed in seconds and forgotten just as quickly, receipts are one of the most precise traces of our daily lives. Receipts uses self check
out receipts to build a series of character snapshots shaped by what people buy, when they buy it, and what that might reveal. A bottle of wine at 10:47pm. Cold medicine and tissues. A birthday cake
for one. Patterns emerge. Contradictions surface. A private life becomes legible.

Stripped back and unsentimental, Receipts is a portrait of modern habits, impulses and routines, hiding in plain sight at the bottom of a shopping bag.
