When our theatres suddenly went dark, the eternal inhabitants were left wondering what the hell had happened. With the most vibrant part of London a ghost town we meet the locals in two iconic theatres who tell us about their lives and deaths while trying to work out if the end is nigh.
First, we head to The Palace Theatre where Victoria, a rather squashed 20s nanny, and Arthur, an unlucky 60s teen live in limbo. Arthur was forced into a gang. They thought he was a snitch; he swears he wasn’t.
In act two we travel around the corner to The Dominion Theatre where our Unknown Soldier is also waiting. Coming to London in the Second World War, our African American hero, finds freedom and love with a British air force officer. Is it a love to last the ages?
